NOTE: Time is not set in stone, a survey will be sent out to see what time the parents would like to hold these weekly sessions.
Do you have a <18 year old student who is interested in cybersecurity? We've got a program for them! We're (BlackGirlsHack / BGH Foundation) partnering with Hacker Frogs to bring the youth (only) version of our popular drop in workshop series. This program is designed for students who are interested in the field or parents who want them to be interested! The program is 7 weeks long, FREE and on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from time TBD starting on October 7th. The program, like everything we do at BGH, is open to ALL youth under age 18. We've got about 50 parents who have expressed interest so far and the room can hold up to 100 students. If you're interested you can email info@wegotnextcyber.comfor the parental consent form and fill out the application here:https://lnkd.in/ee6j3cTwBoth are required for student participation. Only a laptop or chromebook with internet access is required for participation. Detailed information on topics covered are described below. The classes are drop in and drop out which means that you don't have to be there for every class and replayed classes will be available on Hacker Frogs and BlackGirlsHack's YouTube page after they are aired. No students will be shown on the live stream, only the content under discussion. We are running the second cohort of this program at NO COST to our participants. We only request that the students complete a survey at the close of the program to talk about their experience. We use the application and survey info (anonymized) to request for funding to conduct future programs. We are rolling out our K-8 programming next year so make sure to follow BGH's socials for more information. Happy hacking!
