Want to learn how to set up your new lab? Let's do it but with a twist. In this 2.5 hour lab, students will be shown how to set up a home lab in AWS. We'll cover how to set up a virtual VM network in the cloud

1) Setup a free AWS Account

2) How to set up Multi-factor Authentication

3) How to setup Kali Box

4) How to set up vulnerable VM for attack

In this intermediate level lab you'll learn how 

Setting up a home lab in AWS (Amazon Web Services) can provide you with a wide range of valuable technical and practical skills that are highly transferable to many roles in the IT and technology sector. Here are the key skills you can develop:

1. Cloud Fundamentals

  • Cloud Architecture: Understand the core concepts of cloud computing, such as regions, availability zones, scalability, elasticity, and fault tolerance.
  • AWS Services Proficiency: Gain hands-on experience with various AWS services like EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud), S3 (Simple Storage Service), RDS (Relational Database Service), Lambda, and VPC (Virtual Private Cloud).

2. System Administration and Networking

  • Virtual Machine Management: Learn to deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines on AWS, which is essential for system administration roles.
  • Networking Skills: Configure and manage AWS networking components, such as subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, and security groups. Gain familiarity with concepts like VPC, VPNs, and direct connect.
